Concerts on the Garden Route in April

The Parlotones – 1st and 3rd April

The Parlotones are potentially South Africa’s biggest selling pop/rock act ever with 2 000,000+ albums sales worldwide. They will be down on the Garden Route and are performing on 1 April in George and 3rd April in Knysna.

Arno Carstens – 1st April

Prepare for a magical evening of art and music, spanning the 2 decades of Arno’s extraordinary career, from the mighty anthems of Springbok Nude Girls to the iconic singles of his solo career. Arno Carstens is performing in George on1 April.

Karen Zoid – 2nd April

This incredibly talented artist will be performing in Knysna on 2 April. Karen is one South Africa's most celebrated artists and one of the top streaming musicians in the country. She is celebrating her 20th year in the music industry this year. Her exclusive performance in Knysna promises to be a night to remember.

Jess Clegg – 4th April

Jess Clegg will be performing in Knysna on 4 April. The Speed Of Light Tour follows the successful release of his latest single, Speed of Light. Speed of Light is an upbeat pop-inspired track about how life can still hold some inspiring surprises, even at our lowest points. Indicative of these sentiments, the song itself was completed just in time, before Jesse had to return to South Africa due to the COVID19 travel ban.

Shows and Festivals on the Garden Route in April

Garden Route Walking Festival – 2nd to 5th April

South Africa’s only walking festival is becoming the ‘not-to-miss’ event on the Garden Route. The region is home to South Africa’s most famous trails and hiking routes (see our blog post on best long-distance hiking trails on the Garden Route). The Garden Route Walking Festival is from 2nd April to 5th April and is between Mossel Bay and Nature’s Valley.

Garden Route Air show – 3rd April

For the first time in 25 years, the sky's above George will be filled with the sound of high performance aircraft and display teams from around the country. The original date was postponed to 3 April 2021 to host this spectacular event in aid of the Garden Route Fire Fighters.

Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and Arts Festival – 23rd to 27th April

The annual Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and Arts Festival will again be bringing some sparkle and glamour to the streets of Knysna from 23 April to 27 April. Dancing, fun and music play an enormous part of the event. The grand finale of the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras, the Knysna Pride Parade and after-party, is held on the final weekend of the celebrations.

Evoking Art Experience – 24th April

Evoking 2021 is the inaugural art exhibition curated by Ingrid Nuss. The exhibition will be hosted on 24 April at Timberlake Organic Village in Wilderness. Evoking Art Experience provides a platform to showcase, collaborate, engage, and connect with the broader creative culture that exists in the Wilderness area.

Markets on the Garden Route in April

Knysna Market at The Farm– 4 April

Monthly local Knysna market at The Farm, a peaceful open-air venue with children's play areas and cycle track. Our local vendors have lovingly handmade crafts, gifts and products to fill your Easter basket.

Outeniqua Farmer’s Market, George – Every Saturday

The Outeniqua Farmer’s Market is home to 80 food and craft stalls. The Outeniqua Farmer’s Market is designed for convenience and entertainment. There is parking for over 1200 vehicles, with entertainment happening in every nook and cranny of the market, perfect for the whole family. Be wowed by comedians, singers, bands and other entertainers while you shop and relax.

Wild Oats Community Farmers Market, Sedgefield – Every Saturday

Over 60 stalls of the finest local farm produce, homebakes, plants and flowers, outdoor breakfast and live music - no matter what the weather does. An authentic taste of the Garden Route - fresh produce and goods every Saturday. It's the one under the trees!
